Police have identified the 29-year-old motorcyclist killed in a crash on Shore Parkway Sunday night as Besim Muminovic of Astoria, Queens.
Police say the crash happened just after 11:30 p.m. Sunday night.
Investigators with the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined that a 2018 Mercedes-Benz was traveling westbound Belt Parkway, when it attempted to exit at Exit 7B (Ocean Parkway), and collided with Muminovic, who was riding a 2024 Yamaha YZF-R1 in the right-hand lane.
Video shows the Mercedes slamming into multiple parked cars and flipping multiple times. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead that night at the hospital.
A 22-year-old passenger in the Mercedes also died from his injuries.
Police sources told News 12 that a gun fell out of the Mercedes when crews flipped it back over. They say Mercedes was stolen from New Jersey over a month ago. The NYPD put an alert on it, which triggered cameras at least seven times in the last month, mostly in Manhattan. The driver remains at large.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the Mercedes, the driver or the crash to contact the NYPD.
