Two teens have been arrested for an alleged assault in Hauppauge on August 11.

Suffolk police say that around 3:40 p.m. Keeghan Lynch, 18, along with two 17-year-old boys, approached a 73-year-old man collecting bottles at the Bolla Market parking lot on Route 111. The 17-year-olds then allegedly struck the man with a bottle and then proceeded to punch and kick him.

The three then fled the scene in a white Chevrolet Trailblazer, according to police. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is expected to be ok.

Police say that around 4:45 p.m. the same Trailblazer then stopped in front of 18 Lisa Ct. in Shirley and one of the 17-year-old boys demanded an e-bike scooter from a 67-year-old man who was currently riding it. The man refused, fled the scene and contacted police.

Following an investigation, that same 17-year-old male was arrested and charged with attempted robbery and assault, according to police. He is scheduled for arraignment at the Youth Part of the First District Court.

Police say Lynch was later arrested at his home in Remsenburg, N.Y. and charged with assault. He is being arraigned at the First District Court in Central Islip.

The remaining 17-year-old has not yet been apprehended. Police say the investigation is ongoing and they do know his identity. Detectives are asking anyone with information or any other victims to contact them at 631-854-8552.
