A New Windsor man accused of driving recklessly and leading officers on a chase Thursday the City of Newburgh is facing multiple charges.
Police say 34-year-old Edwardo Moreno was spotted blowing stop signs and disregarding traffic laws around 8:30 p.m. on Farrington Street.
After police attempted to conduct a stop, he took off and continued driving through city streets and Downing Park.
He later drove the wrong way on Johnston Street before stopping, leaving the vehicle and attempting to hide in a nearby backyard.
The pursuing officers found Moreno, took him into custody and had his ATV impounded.
The charges against him include unlawful operation of an ATV, obstructing governmental administration and reckless driving.
The City of Newburgh Police Department reminds the public that ATVs are not allowed on city roads or public parks.
