A late-night shooting and stabbing in Crown Heights sent two men to the hospital, and police are still trying to figure out exactly what happened.
The violence broke out around 1 a.m. outside 1468 Eastern Parkway, a residential building in the neighborhood. According to police, a 33-year-old man was shot in the stomach, and a 31-year-old man was stabbed in the upper back. Both were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.
At some point, police sources say one of the men walked over to Howard Avenue and St. Johns Place, near a deli and grill. This added to the confusion about where the attack actually started.
Investigators recovered a gun at the scene, but they say both victims are refusing to cooperate, making it harder to determine who was involved.
This marks the fourth shooting in the area this year, according to NYPD crime data.
