Trick-or-treating has been postponed until Nov. 1 in Toms River this year due to inclement weather.
Toms River usually holds its Halloween trick-or-treating a day early, on Oct. 30, because of the annual Halloween parade that takes place on Oct. 31. But a rainy and windy storm is expected to tear through the state on Thursday.
Forecasters say this storm could cause flooding and wind damage.
Toms River officials say that the annual Halloween parade is still scheduled to take place on Oct. 31. It is considered one of the country's largest Halloween parades.
