SNOW: Tuesday, expect light snow in the morning, but for Westchester County and Rockland counties, any areas south will see light snow mixing with rain in the morning, and steady rain during the afternoon.
Areas north of Westchester and Rockland counties are more likely to see steady snowfall throughout the morning and day. Due to the sharp cutoff, Orange, Dutchess, and Ulster Counties are likely to see significant snow totals. Up to 7" or more is possible for these areas, whereas areas south will likely see anywhere from a trace to 3" of snowfall.
There is still a lot of uncertainty for snow totals in the middle counties like Orange and Putnam, but we are watching closely where the system will set up. The biggest takeaway, Westchester and Rockland County residents should prepare for more of a rain event. Residents north, prepare to shovel, and for a very snowy day. This storm event will come to an end near 9 p.m.
