Get ready to grab the umbrella before you bolt out the door in the Hudson Valley. We have several rains of rain moving through the day today, much-needed rain I may add. While the rainfall totals have gone down over the past several days of computer model runs, every drop will help to remove portions of the region from being in a drought. At least the incoming moisture has removed the risk of brushfires starting and/or easily spreading. The timeline for the rain is a round between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and another round between 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Along with the rain, we'll see breezy to gusty winds through today. The gusts won't be as high as how they have been over the past several days, thankfully. But as you take out that umbrella, you may have to hold on tightly to it. Or, at least to your hat/hoodie.
Drier conditions move in through the Thursday morning hours, with a mix of sun and clouds expected through the day. Friday is shaping up to be a very nice day, with mostly sunny skies and seasonal temperatures.
Rain will be returning to the region Saturday, so you may want to push back those outdoor plans towards Sunday. Sunday is Mother's Day and it will be fairly drier and nicer, by comparison, to be out and about to celebrate the mom in your life. However, rain chances will try to rise late in the day as another system comes through Sunday night and last into Monday morning.
