This morning's mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain led to numerous accidents, but gradual improvements continue through this afternoon and evening as temperatures continue to slowly rise. Please still use extreme caution getting around with very slippery conditions around. Expect a cloudy afternoon with showers ending and highs eventually reaching the mid to upper 30s.
A few icy patches can develop overnight with lows around 33 degrees in White Plains and Yonkers, but at or below freezing elsewhere.
Tomorrow will be a dry, windy and chilly day that allows us to regroup and prepare for our next winter storm in a series of storms over the next few weeks. The next one can bring accumulating snow overnight Saturday night into Sunday morning. Exact details on that storm will become clearer tonight into tomorrow. But plowable, heavy snow is possible with 6 inches of snow not out of the question in some areas.
