Thunderbolt 12 was on the roads this morning to monitor conditions across the area as Long Islanders headed out the door.

Snow combined with freezing rain made for a messy commute.

Public Works crews were out since late Wednesday night into this morning in both Nassau and Suffolk counties treating roads.

Slick and icy spots may linger especially on residential and local roads.
