A winter storm warning has been issued for: Northern Fairfield, northern New Haven, northern Middlesex, northern New London, southern Fairfield, southern New Haven, southern Middlesex, southern New London, northern Litchfield and southern Litchfield.
FORECAST:
Friday will be sunny, breezy and chilly with seasonable highs in the upper 30s, but it will feel chillier throughout the day. The NWS has issued a Winter Storm Watch in advance for Saturday night as another round of snow moves in.
This next storm moves through at a somewhat better time for most of us, but if you have plans late Saturday or early Sunday, this may affect you. This time around, temperatures look like they will stay colder and that means most of the precipitation falls as snow. There is also more moisture that will get wrapped up into this storm and potentially we could be looking at upwards of 4-6 inches of snow, with totals that may approach 9" or more in spots closer to I-84 and north.
There still is a slight risk of some mixing near the coast by early Sunday morning, and this may keep totals down a touch there. Travel will be difficult overnight Saturday into the early morning hours of Sunday. At times the snow will come down moderately to heavy.
Showers will taper off Sunday morning and temperatures will rise into the upper 30s. Melting will occur through the day.
