A state representative from Bethel is facing a new shoplifting charge after turning himself in to police on Monday.
Raghib Allie-Brennan was previously arrested in June after police said he failed to pay for items at a Target store.
At the time, Allie-Brennan said he had been in a rush to bring items to his sick grandmother and forgot to pay.
Target security told police they recognized him from earlier incidents.
The Connecticut Republican Party is now calling for Allie-Brennan to resign.
