State Senator Richard Blumenthal is calling for an immediate end to the war with Iran in order to lower gas prices.

Blumenthal says the war comes at a high cost for Connecticut residents.

“These gasoline prices, groceries costs -- it's insane; and so is the war- that needs to be stopped now,” he stated.

Drivers who planned getaways before Labor Day were hit especially hard as high gas prices continued to rise by several cents.

As Blumenthal continues to push for an end to the war, he says the way to peace is through talk and negotiation.
