A man was fatally struck by a car in Mount Vernon on Thursday.
A 79-year-old man was hit on East Lincoln Avenue around 7:45 p.m., according to the city officials.
He was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver remained at the scene.
An investigation is underway.
