Bus riders could soon experience faster trips as the MTA cracks down on drivers who block bus lanes and stops.
Beginning on Friday, automated cameras will issue fines on the B38, B103, Bx11, and Bx17 bus routes in the Bronx and Brooklyn.
Fines will start at $50 and could reach as high as $250 for repeat offenders.
The MTA says the goal is to improve bus service by enhancing compliance with existing traffic rules.
They add that the program has already increased bus speeds on some routes by nearly 30%.
