One of the suspects accused in the brutal beating of an off-duty police officer has pleaded not guilty after being extradited to New York.

Taveon Hargrove, 23, is accused of attacking NYPD Officer Chowdhury Nafees at knifepoint on Saint Peters Avenue.

Hargrove and Wayne Lucas were both arrested in Virginia.

Hargrove has been charged with attempted murder, attempted robbery, aggravated assault on a police officer and criminal possession of a weapon.

Hargrove is being held without bail.
