It was a milestone day for the new inhabitants of Sacred Heart University on Thursday.
It marked the start of move-in weekend for new students at the Fairfield campus.
The school is welcoming 1,500 freshmen over the coming days.
Members of fraternities, sororities and sports teams helped the new students unload their vehicles and get everything into the dorms. As well as offering some words of wisdom.
“They're coming to a new environment, and to be greeted like this on our campus and welcomed like they are, it just makes them feel like they're already part of something, so it's a great experience,” says Sacred Heart event management coordinator Cynthia Conte.
Conte has been part of the move-in for two decades, and says it’s a much smoother, but still exciting, process the days.
