A Monmouth County school district is reversing course on a water bottle ban after community pushback.

The Howell Township School District sent a letter to the community on Thursday stating that metal and stainless-steel water bottles will be allowed in the school after all.

The district initially banned the metal bottles due to safety concerns.

But district officials say that the metal bottles will have to be stored away for most of the day.

Glass bottles will still be banned.
