        Riverhead man accused of driving drunk, hitting police car and fleeing scene

        Officers were outside of the police vehicle conducting another investigation at the time of the incident. No one was injured.

        Southampton Town police say a Riverhead man was arrested for driving drunk, hitting a marked patrol car and then fleeing the scene Tuesday in Water Mill.
        They say Kevin Sagastume, 23, sideswiped the police car after attempting to leave a dirt roadway onto Montauk Highway.
        Officers were outside of the police vehicle conducting another investigation at the time of the incident. No one was injured.
        Police stopped Sagastume shortly after and determined he was drunk. They say he faces multiple charges, including aggravated DWI.
