A woman was killed in a hit-and-run early Wednesday morning on Veterans Memorial Highway in Bohemia, according to police.

Authorities say the victim was crossing Fifth Avenue around 5:15 a.m. when the vehicle driving westbound struck her.

The woman, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
