Retired Yonkers fire captain admits possessing and promoting child sexual abuse material
A retired Yonkers Fire Department captain has pleaded guilty to charges involving child sexual abuse material, according to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.
Scott Denet, 57, of Shrub Oak, admitted to possessing and promoting child sexual abuse material.
Denet retired from the Yonkers Fire Department in 2023 after 24 years of service. Prosecutors said the offenses occurred after his retirement from the department.
When he returns to court for sentencing in January, Denet is expected to receive 10 years of probation and will be required to register as a sex offender.
