A vehicle crashed into the 14th Street Garden Center in Jersey City on Wednesday, prompting a large police response and temporarily shutting down the area.
Video provided to News 12, along with aerial footage, showed NYPD and Port Authority officers swarming the scene after the vehicle crashed into the popular garden center near Jersey Avenue, just a few blocks from the Holland Tunnel.
Employees said everyone inside was safe, and crews quickly repaired the damaged area, allowing the business to reopen the following day.
Workers said police appeared to have been following a vehicle from New York, through the Holland Tunnel and into Jersey City before the crash.
“We were all here, but thank God no one was in the area of the crash. We were all over there,” employee Mike Giordano said. “It could have been much worse.”
Authorities have not released additional details about what led to the crash or whether anyone was injured.
