Putnam County Sheriff Kevin McConville has died at his home, according to a statement from the sheriff's office.

McConville, 68, had announced in July that he would not seek reelection due to health issues.

He was first elected in 2021 after serving 30 years with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

He is survived by his wife, three children, and grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
