A Neptune police officer is facing charges for illegally using law enforcement databases to find a woman’s personal information, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities say 29-year-old Joshua James was working outside of an elementary school when he noticed the woman picking up her child.
Officials say he then drove to her residence, requested her phone number and asked if she was single.
James has since been arrested and suspended from duty by the Neptune Township Police Department.
Anyone with additional information is urged to contact MCPO Detective Ryan Mahony at 800-533-7443.
