        Officials say the fire was reported just after 3 p.m. Tuesday inside the home located at 289 Van Nostrand Ave.

        Prosecutor: Man killed in Jersey City house fire Tuesday afternoon
        A 53-year-old man was killed in a house fire in Jersey City, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.
        Officials say the fire was reported just after 3 p.m. Tuesday inside the home located at 289 Van Nostrand Ave. They say the firefighters found Terrance Culbreath injured in the kitchen of the second-floor unit.
        Culbreath was taken to Jersey City Medical Center and was pronounced dead just after 4 p.m., officials say.
        The cause of the fire was not immediately known. Officials say that foul play is not suspected.
