A police officer and a civilian were hurt in a crash in Bed-Stuy that occurred while the officer was responding to a call.
The NYPD says that the officer was responding to a 911 call about a man with a firearm. They say that while responding to the call, the police car crashed into a white Nissan Rogue, driven by a 28-year-old man.
They say the police car was traveling eastbound on Willoughby Avenue, and the other car was driving eastbound on Walworth Street when they collided.
This happened around 8 p.m. Wednesday.
NYPD officials say that the officer sustained critical injuries but is stable. The person in the other vehicle was also taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
