Major parkways shut down as floodwaters swamp Hudson Valley

Officials said the closures follow widespread flooding that left cars submerged and traffic at a standstill across the region.

Flooding shut down major stretches of the Saw Mill River Parkway and other key roads across Westchester County following Monday’s severe storms.
The Saw Mill River Parkway is closed in both directions from Exit 9 at Executive Boulevard to Exit 16 at Lawrence Street.
Northbound traffic from the Bronx River Parkway is closed at the Bronx border. Southbound traffic has reopened.
Route 9A in Greenburgh was shut down in both directions between Payne Street and Hunter Lane. The Taconic Parkway was closed in both directions in Mount Pleasant between Stevens Avenue and Valhalla Place. Route 22 was closed in both directions in North White Plains between Hillandale Avenue and Quarry Heights. All have since reopened.
