Dozens of Parkchester homes were in the dark for hours after an overhead cable went up in flames overnight.
Con Edison says an overhead cable caught fire and smoke filled the area of Castle Hill Avenue and Glover Street. Power was cut off for residents in the area leaving over a dozen families with no power overnight.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire, but it's unclear how the fire started.
According to the Con Edison map, all homes that lost power now have their power restored.
