A woman escaped a violent carjacking early Sunday when two men attempted to steal her brother's vehicle with her inside, police say.
Police say a man reported his vehicle was stolen from Cumberland Farms on Boston Post Road, with his 25-year-old sister inside.
They say a suspect described as a man with dreadlocks and wearing a gray sweatsuit entered the vehicle and attempted to remove the woman by punching and kicking her.
A second suspect, described as a male wearing all black, drove the vehicle west on Cherry Street, police said.
The vehicle stopped outside 170 Cherry St., where both suspects tried again to remove the woman, police said.
The woman managed to get into the driver’s seat and drove off while the suspects entered a darker-colored SUV that headed toward Exit 39.
