A Waterbury man is accused of stealing over $600 worth of meat and seafood from the Southbury ShopRite, police say.
Police were alerted to an active larceny at the supermarket just before 2 p.m. Friday.
Once they arrived in the parking lot, officers found Matthew Kimbrough in the passenger seat of a vehicle that was attempting to drive away.
Following an investigation, Kimbrough was taken into custody Friday afternoon, police say.
Police did not provide information on how Kimbrough was able to leave the store with such a large amount of items.
He was charged with larceny.
Kimbrough was released on bond and is expected to appear in court June 3.
