Authorities are asking for the public’s help to identify a victim in a 22-year-old homicide case in Atlantic County.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, working with the FBI and Absecon police, said human remains were discovered Feb. 17, 2004 in a marshy area off U.S. Route 30 by New Jersey Department of Corrections workers conducting roadside cleanup.
The remains, found inside a laundry bag, were determined to belong to an adult male homicide victim.
The New Jersey State Police Office of Forensic Services created a clay facial reconstruction, but despite an extensive investigation, the victim was never identified.
