56m agoA Norwalk Housing Authority employee is facing a reckless endangerment charge for leaving a 6-year-old in a van, according to authorities.
Police say they responded to a call on May 15 that a 6-year-old did not return from their after-school activities, which were sponsored by the authority.
Officers found the child asleep in a passenger van in the authority's parking lot.
An investigation by the department's special victim units discovered Vladimir Galette, 47, was the van driver and claims Galette failed to follow protocols by not checking the van for passengers before securing the vehicle for the night.
Galette was arrested without incident on Thursday in Stamford.
He is expected to appear in court on July 15.
