Security at Adventureland is being called into question following a stabbing inside the popular East Farmingdale amusement park.

An Adventureland spokesperson tells News 12 bags are searched at the entrance, but there are no metal detectors.

Long Islanders took to social media to express their concerns.

One person wrote, “How do you plan on making sure families feel safe?”

Another wrote, “Time for real security and metal detectors.”

An Adventureland spokesperson says its policies and protocols are being reviewed. It’s not clear if the amusement park plans to install metal detectors.

Earlier in the day, News 12 spoke with families headed to the Adventureland Amusement Park, one day after a stabbing there.

A Mineola grandfather called the incident "unbelievable," and said society today is "sickening," nothing that it happened at a place for families.

He said he's been going to the park for 20 years and never had a problem.

A dad from Oceanside said safety is a priority, adding, though, that you can't "stop your life" because of one thing that happened.

A spokesperson for Adventureland said that visitors' bags are checked daily at the entrance.

Asked whether the park would consider adding metal detectors, News 12 was told, "We are reviewing procedures and policies internally and consulting with industry experts, but too early to say what specifically may come.
