Police received a call around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday reporting a fight involving a knife at Cancun's Mexican Restaurant on South Broadway.
Upon arrival, witnesses told officers that a man had entered the restaurant and gotten into a verbal altercation with a female employee. The situation escalated when the man pulled out a knife and threatened the woman. The two then left the restaurant on foot, still arguing.
Officers located both individuals on East Market Street in the village and arrested Justino Romero, a 55-year-old Red Hook resident. Romero was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and harassment. He was processed and arraigned in village court, where he was released with a future court date scheduled.
