Police: Bronx man pepper sprayed Norwalk Bloomingdale's security officer during robbery

Police say two men and a woman stole 10 handbags valued at $2,500 from the store and then ran.

A Bronx man is accused of pepper spraying a Bloomingdale's security officer at the Norwalk store, police say.
It happened on Dec. 28.
Police say two men and a woman stole 10 handbags valued at $2,500 from the store and then ran.
During the robbery, a security officer was pepper sprayed in the face, according to authorities.
Two of the suspects, Jesus Rodriguez and Evelyn Marreno, also wanted in several states for similar robberies and larcenies.
Following an investigation, police determined Rodriguez pepper sprayed the officer.
Rodriguez was arrested by Yonkers police for charges he is facing there. He was extradited to Connecticut on Thursday.
He is charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, organized retail theft, conspiracy to commit organized retail theft and larceny.
Marreno was arrested by police in New Jersey and remains in custody as she awaits extradition for charges in both Norwalk and New York.
