An officer-involved shooting happened in Bridgeport overnight Saturday, police say.
Police say officers were called to a home in the 100 block of Terry Place for a report of an emotionally disturbed person.
A short time after their arrival, officers located Huntley Jackson, 45, who they say brandished a knife at the residence which led to the officer-involved shooting.
Police did not provide details on what caused the shooting.
Jackson was transported to Saint Vincent's Medical Center and is in critical condition.
Jackson faces numerous charges including murder, assault on a public safety officer and carrying a dangerous weapon.
His bond has been set at $1 million.
The shooting will be investigated by the Office of the Inspector General, the Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crime Squad and the Bridgeport State's Attorney Office. Further updates on the incident will be provided by the Office of the Inspector General.
Police say as per their protocol, those involved in the shooting will be assigned to modified duty until a determination has been made by the Office of the Inspector General.
