Norwalk police say the body recovered from the Norwalk River Thursday has been identified as a Long Island woman.
Police were contacted by Wilton authorities Thursday afternoon to help with a missing person case. They responded to Schenck's Island in Wilton and found clothing and personal items near the bank of the river. Police say the river was flowing rapidly due to the heavy rainfall the night before.
Police say 35-year-old Paige Fannon, of West Islip, was found in the river in the area of Main Avenue and Grist Mill Road in Norwalk.
Officers utilized a drone and conducted an aerial search southbound along the riverbanks, along with a land search.
        The incident remains under investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Norwalk Police Detective Bureau at 203-854-3011 or email Detective Taylor at ltaylor@norwalkct.gov.
