        Police: DUI crash in Edison injures 4 people

        Police say Alyssa Figueredo has been charged with driving under the influence, three counts of assault by auto and other traffic violations.

        A DUI crash early Thursday morning in Edison left four people injured, according to police.
        Authorities say 31-year-old Alyssa Figueredo, of Cranford, ran a red light and caused the crash at Route 1 and Parsonage Road. She sustained minor injuries.
        A family of three was inside the other vehicle. The driver, 39-year-old Diego Mejia, was seriously injured but is listed in stable condition, officials say.
        Officials say his wife, Jessica Naranjo, and his 15-year-old daughter sustained life-threatening injuries.
        Police say Figueredo has been charged with driving under the influence, three counts of assault by auto and other traffic violations.
