        Police: 3 persons of interest wanted in Hoboken shooting incident

        Elias Mercado, 18, was apprehended and charged with attempted murder shortly after the incident.

        Hoboken police are asking for the public’s help identifying three persons of interest connected with a shooting that occurred on Dec. 19.
        Authorities say they fled the scene at the corner of Fourth and Jackson streets after the shots were fired.
        Elias Mercado, 18, was shortly apprehended and charged with attempted murder.
        He also faces weapon and drug charges after police say they found bullet casings, heroin and crack cocaine in his possession during the arrest.
