When Diesel was found by volunteers, he was running around Route 22 in Union. Now in the care of Brendan’s Meadows Rescue in Mountainside, he's looking for a permanent home.
Diesel is 13 months old and is a Neapolitan Mastiff/Great Dane mix. At just over 100 pounds, he's a big boy with an equally big, but well-behaved personality, according to the volunteers. He's been professionally trained in basic obedience and can follow multiple commands. He's also housebroken, crate-trained and trained on leash skills.
"Diesel is a gentle giant who adores people and tolerates other dogs. He's the perfect blend of playful energy and sweet, snuggly charm! Imagine him running joyfully one minute, then stretching out on the grass the next, soaking up belly rubs and giving the best puppy kisses," according to volunteers.
Shelter workers say Diesel loves being outdoors, going on long walks and splashing around in the water. Ideally, he's be best suited for an adult home, or a family with older children.
