A Paterson man will spend the rest of his life in prison for killing the woman who was pregnant with his child.
Donqua Thomas, 33, was sentenced to life imprisonment for the Oct. 29, 2020, shooting of Remy Lee.
Authorities say that Thomas shot Lee four times in the parking lot outside of 5 Christina Place in Paterson. Lee was taken to the hospital and died. Doctors were able to successfully deliver the baby, who survived.
Officials say that Thomas waited in his car for over an hour for Lee to arrive at her apartment where he got out and killed her. Lee was able to identify Thomas as the shooter before she died.
Thomas was found guilty of murder this past June.
