Nassau police say the body of a 29-year-old woman was discovered Saturday in the basement of a home in Hempstead.

Officers responded to a 911 call at the residence on Botsford Street and found the victim with multiple stab wounds.

A neighbor told News 12 that the woman has a young child.

"Who could do that, especially to a lady who has her child and everything? What could she have done wrong? It's heartbreaking,” said Larissa Delgado.

Any information about suspects or arrests was not immediately available.
