Little leaguers in Pelham Bay took to Crosby Avenue during their annual parade to kick off the 2025 summer season.
While teams marched and chanted, league president Natalia Corridori called attention to financial struggles and the need for upgrades.
"Currently, we have no heat, no hot water, no air conditioning in our indoor training facility. Our fields are dilapidated, our dugouts need to be reconstructed,” she said. “We need a complete renovation, and we desperately need these funds.”
Though the league is funded through parent fees, officials are calling on the City Council to put more money into the program.
