The $11 million was made available through FEMA's hazard mitigation grant program.
The funding was reserved for the state following President Joe Biden's major disaster declaration after more than six inches of rain fell in parts of Westchester in a 24-hour period last fall.
Eligible entities can apply and receive funding to cover up to 75% of costs for projects that increase the state's resiliency.
