A person was trapped in a Bay Shore house fire on Monday, , officials say.

They say the fire was reported at around 12:30 p.m.

Fire officials say the fire and the victim were discovered on the first floor of the home.

The victim was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore and then to Stony Brook University Burn Center, officials say.

Officials say the victim is in critical, but stable condition.

The fire was put under control by around 1:30 p.m.
