Officials: Bomb threat at St. Margaret's Shrine in Bridgeport was a hoax
A reported bomb threat at St. Margaret's Shrine in Bridgeport Saturday has been deemed not creditable, city officials say.
The city's emergency communications center received a call just before 10 a.m. regarding a bomb threat to the church.
Bridgeport police and fire responded and determined the call to be a swatting incident, according to authorities.
They say there is no threat to the church and the incident was a hoax.
Officials say police are investigating the incident with assistance from other law enforcement agencies because other jurisdictions have received similar calls.
