Police are searching for a man who stabbed a 17-year-old Friday night at the Utica Avenue subway station.
The incident occurred just before 9:30 on the platform of the A and C lines.
The man allegedly stabbed the teen once in the shoulder before stealing his Nike backpack. The 17-year-old was taken to Brookdale Hospital and is said to be in stable condition.
Residents who spoke with News 12 say more security is needed at the station.
“I have never heard of this happening here," said Marcese Carvalho. "To me, to be a victim of that is terrible – this station to me…it needs more supervision if that’s happening.”
        No arrests have been made.
