Police are searching for a man they say is wanted in connection to an attempted rape in the Ocean Hill area.
Residents around Herkimer Street and Saratoga Avenue say it's a quiet neighborhood.
“We never had these types of issues in this neighborhood. This neighborhood is a very safe neighborhood," said Alonzo Goodridge.
That feeling of safety is being questioned after a 22-year-old woman was punched in the face, pushed to the ground, strangled and sexually assaulted.
Police say the victim was taken to a hospital and is said to be in stable condition at this time. They are still searching for the suspect.
"It’s really disconcerting that someone would do that. This person is obviously not well. I hope she’s doing OK in the hospital, but we are all just being alert and letting people know what’s going on," said Rae De Vine, a Bed-Stuy resident.
