Two men were cited for multiple traffic violations Saturday after an "illegal speeding contest" on the Long Island Expressway, according to the Suffolk Police Street Takeover Task Force.
Authorities say the incident occurred around 8:45 a.m. near Exit 58 in Islandia.
The drivers were allegedly weaving in and out of traffic at over 100 miles per hour while heading east.
Officers say they were able to safely stop Dean Carfora, of Lloyd Harbor, and Matthew Famighette, of West Babylon.
Both of their Mercedes Sedans were then seized by police.
The two suspects are scheduled to be arraigned later in January.
