        NYPD: Man attempted to rape and then robbed woman in Brooklyn Heights

        The man forced the victim into a basement stairwell, punched her and attempted to rape her.

        Police are looking for a man who they say attempted to rape a woman and then robbed her of her belongings in Brooklyn.
        The man approached a 51-year-old woman who was standing in the lobby of a building on Montague Street and Henry Street Feb. 11, police say. The man forced her into a basement stairwell, punched her and attempted to rape her. Then, he took her chain, cellphone and purse before escaping.
        The victim had lacerations to her face, scratches and bruising throughout her body and was taken to an area hospital by EMS in stable condition.
