Seven people are facing charges following a large-scale drug bust in Hudson County.
The county prosecutor’s office says the six-month investigation culminated with a bust last Thursday in multiple locations throughout the state.
Three of the people arrested include a West New York police dispatcher, a retired detective and a Hudson County Correctional police officer, according to the prosecutor.
Officials say the bust seized more than four kilos of cocaine, two handguns, seven vehicles and more than $70,000 in cash. They say the drugs recovered are worth more than $150,000.
West New York Police Director Henry Codina says his department is cooperating with the investigation.
“We do not and will not condone this type of behavior from any member of our department, sworn or civilian. Such conduct is in direct conflict with the values, integrity, and professionalism expected of those entrusted with public service,” Codina wrote in a statement.
The dispatcher who was arrested has since been suspended from the West New York Police Department.
